Our in-house laboratory enables us to analyse specific blood samples immediately and obtain instant results. This is vital when dealing with sick or injured horses but also when assessing routine fitness and health of performance horses. 

BLOOD PROFILES : our Idexx laboratory system analyses routine bloods (haematology and biochemistry). Blood results will be ready on the day they were taken, providing our lab receives them before 12 noon.

IGG LEVEL ASSESSMENT FOALS: the level of antibodies in a newborn foal can be assessed when the foal is at 24hours old to make sure an adequate level of immunity has been reached through colostrum intake. 

SYNOVIAL FLUID CELL COUNT: when there is a risk of bacterial infection in a joint or tendon sheath, a sample is taken of the synovial fluid. Immediate treatment is required if infection is present. 

SERUM AMYLOID A TESTING: this is an acute phase inflammatory and infection marker, determining within seconds whether your horse may be suffering from an infection. 

ENDOMETRIAL CULTURE AND SENSITIVITY: we can culture routine endometrial swabs in-house. Within 24/48 hours we can make an early diagnosis of endometrial infection if present. 

None-routine and specialist samples are sent to specialist labs. We work closely with Rossdales Laboratories, Liphook Laboratory and the Irish Equine Centre. It usually takes a few days to get results back.
